This journal is a testimony of my experience as a pilgrim on the Camino Frances, as I experienced it from within. I will share my motivations, my difficulties and my doubts, as well as the extraordinary happiness that this pilgrimage brought me, whether by walking this magnificent millennial pathway, or through the spiritual high that only unique experiences such as a pilgrimage can offer. I will try as well to do justice to the immeasurable wealth brought by the human encounters I was fortunate enough to experience on the Camino. This book is not a guide on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. It will give you no information about the architectural treasures you will come across, nor about the magnificent landscapes of northern Spain. You must not rely on this book to provide you with any practical information on planning your own Camino, though it may shed some light on my own preparations. My goal in writing this book was first and foremost for me to re-live, and thus deepen, this beautiful human adventure. I hope that in sharing it, you will be filled with an irresistible urge to undertake it yourself. My friend Bertrand and I traveled together as a pair. We began the Camino Frances at Saint Jean Pied de Port and walked until the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, or 799 kilometers over thirty-five days in the fall of 2017.
