TANDLER Ryan - Strangers and Pilgrims.
    par Bernard Delhomme

In 2017, Ryan Tandler, a desk-bound social scientist, began a 250-mile walk on the Via Francigena, the ancient pilgrimage path to Rome.
A few days at a time over three years, he walked and kept this journal to share with family and friends, recording in prose the poetry of pilgrimage through beautiful Tuscany and into Lazio, reflecting on the people, places, and history along the way.
A keen observer, amateur historian, and modest photographer, Tandler’s journal gives pilgrims, armchair hikers, and lovers of Italy a close-up look at village Tuscany you’ll only find on foot.
Join him in the vineyards and olive groves and orchards ; on rutted farm paths and cobblestones ; under the sun and against the wind ; in agriturismos and cafes ; and share trail and table with the warm pilgrims and locals he meets along the way.
